Playlist: Best of The Drones Live from YouTube

The 100th post today! To celebrate I haven’t done a Playlist post since getting back into my blog thingy here over the last couple of weeks now. I’ve not done one on The Drones really too, they’re in two posts as kind-off footnotes even if they’re the main image of the posts. So the other weekend I jumped into the swamp that’s YouTube clips to find the very best live footage of one of my favorite bands of all-time, The Drones. There is so much rubbish on YouTube and do you know how hard it is to find The Drones too?

I just to found the best live versions of alot of their tracks, put it all into a list and now I’m sharing it here with anyone who’s wants to have a look too. Only one version of each song gets a clip but a couple of great acoustic versions makes it doubles of two songs. It’s only 37 tracks in the end which is not much really compared to my never ending Rage list but it doesn’t need to go forever. It’s got stuff from all the album over the years, less from the new album so it’s all the old ones. It’s all just the best audio and visually footage I can find, it’s the full tracks as well. Four covers at the end which they have done as encores over the years, the most famous finishing it all off with Kev Carmody‘s River Of Tears which has became a keeper now.

After tensing or joking to us all that the MK Ultra side project was going to be release as a debut live album called Live At The Sydney Opera House last month this YouTube list might have to do for the moment. I got tickets to the two shows down in Freo last week, I can’t wait but it’s not till November!

So did you enjoy The Drones live clips? I guess it’s not quite the same thing as being there at the show/s but seems they don’t play live that much anymore it will have to do. They’re one of the best live band I’ve seen in my life so I would say to you if they do come to your town don’t ever miss them! So has anyone here seen them live before or not?
