So for something like this a list of favorite songs, I need to make some rules just because it can’t be everything. So seems I’ve just done covers songs they don’t count to start with. Next I did something like this about six years ago somewhere else and I did say then tracks for The Best Of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds can’t count because these tracks are always on lists like these so just listen just to that comp album. They’re all really great songs but they’re the ones everyone knows too including myself, too well maybe. If I was to pick say just one track I love the best from the best of it would be The Weeping Song. The Birthday Party’s Nick The Stripper and Releases The Bats are not counted here too because they’re the big two singles they had but they did have a comp album called Hits but they never really had hits other then those two in their lifetime. The again I’ve included Silvers by The Boys Next Door because I couldn’t chose anything else, they have be in the list but nothing else comes close even if it’s written by Rowland S. Howard not Cave.
So this is what comes after those tracks, it’s kind-off where to next? Well, for me at least. They’re some singles from the newest albums, opening the whole thing with the new track Jesus Alone but I can’t help that it’s so great, I’m making this list the day after it’s released so it’s the prefect start. The list itself and it’s order of the songs was going to be kind-off a countdown but in the end hopefully more just a nice flow, I don’t know if the numbers really do mean a thing here. I did it in Spotify too so anyone can play it!
