Well, the hits just keep on coming in 2016. If don’t know by now Sharon Jones passed away last night/yesterday, losing her long battle with cancer at 60. I’ll write a little about her here now and included my fave track/video of hers above but please have a listen to her albums too. I’ll keep it really very short today because I do get long winded sometimes. She was Soul Queen in the 21st century who had her debut album out at the age of 40. With the band The Dap-Kings releasing half a dozen albums in that time, the band was off-course nicked by Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse’s album Back to Black in 2006. That is the title track to the then third studio album 100 Days, 100 Nights was also recorded in 2006 and then released in 2007 and should have sold millions just like that white singer’s album did but it didn’t. That video above was made using just two vintage TV cameras bought on E-Bay for just $50 dollars each, cool hey?
