So the brand new video clip is out now and because I’ve already done a whole post about just the song, What Do You Say? by Holly Throsby Feat. Mark Kozelek when it was release a month or so ago. I’ll just say video was filmed by Jack Saltmiras and it stars Gabby Dillon and Stefan Rusbourne so it’s not Holly and Mark.

Anyway Holly Throsby‘s new album is out next year which somehow I missed this news a few days ago. After A Time is the name of it and is out on February 17, 2017. Which is ten days before Sun Kil Moon new one so I guess this album with be the first new album of next year I’ll be getting. It’s been five years since her last album, Throsby’s written her debut novel in that time called Goodwood so check that out before the album drops.
With her new “dream” band with this new album which sound amazing line-up including Dirty Three’s Mick Turner on guitar which will be the first time on a new album since his solo album in 2013. Marcus Whale of Collarbones, BV on saxophone, Bree van Reyk on drums who worked with Holly on the Seeker Lover Keeper album/project, Joseph Leonard on bass who’s not worked with Holly since her 2004’s debut album called On Night and cello player Jens Birchall who play live with Holly all the time. After A Time was recorded, mixed and and co-produced by Tim Kevin (La Huva, Youth Group) at his Tempe River Studios in Sydney.

So as a bit of an extra here at the end of this post is a very old cover of Holly Throsby doing Mistress written by Mark Kozelek which was originally done by Red House Painters in the 90’s. So both singers are singing together now on her new single but years ago they done some tours together. Then Holly recorded this wonderful cover on Aussie radio station Triple J in 2006. That’s the album cover on the YouTube clip too if what to look for it and it’s was called Like A Version Two which don’t seem to be available anymore at the ABC shop which is the place I would have look but do already do have a copy. It’s my fave cover of his songs ever done by anyone and after a couple of Mark posts seems like a good note to finish off because I’ve got to write about something else next time. Anyway maybe because of roles reverse, you know it’s a female singer now singing his words. I really do think Holly could have made this track even better now with this cover.
