Wicked Songs: Wolves by Kanye West

Post number 2oo today! So I think I might cover a few things on this page, more that just the title says, OK? I know what it says but can’t think of a better song to finish this year on my blog, can you? Like this/his line sums up the the whole year:

“You tried to play nice, everybody just took advantage, You left your fridge open, somebody just took a sandwich”

I don’t know but I love Kanye where everyone seems to hate or at least he gets a really bad rap in the press and media. Anyway I did say the other day I’ll add some of my fave songs before everyone died but it’s just going to be this one only now. I voted for my Triple J’s Hottest 100 tracks but can only pick ten tracks not hundred and just picking from there list because adding anything else never ends up in the final cut anyway so…

My Hottest 100 votes:
Drones, The – Boredom
Radiohead – Burn The Witch
Radiohead – Daydreaming
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds – Jesus Alone
Gold Class – Kids On Fire
PVT – Morning Mist, Rock Island Bend
Radiohead – Spectre
Drones, The – To Think That I Once Loved You
Radiohead – True Love Waits
Kanye West – Wolves

So it seems Radiohead really won in the end for me, three from the new album and one unused James Bond movie theme which is better all the used ones of the past. I do think they will make the cut somewhere, Kanye will be in there too and even Nick will make it maybe? Sometimes he does and sometimes not so I can never tell. The Drones have never made it so I can’t see that changing really this year. Also Gold Class and PVT are just to odd for triple j mainstream radio listeners to vote for so pretty much I’ve wasted my votes again!

So for next year, if I write anything at all I think I’ll try and focus on my Classic Albums tag and see if I can somewhat write about all the albums that are really important to me. I really should have called it something else because it does seem to confused some people but I guess I’m very confusing most of the time anyway!
