New Music: Recovery (Boxset) by Various Artists

Oh god I loved this TV show but it’s not totally new music kind-off new old music really but it’s not an reissue too but going this category today from yet another belated write-up for my Tuesday’s post. If your oversea reader you’ve most likely missed out on the TV show and this release. If you’ve never heard of it I’ll fill you in now. It was release sometime at the tail end of last year, does the date matter? So it was my Xmas present to myself. It’s huge boxset of two CD and two DVD in a big hard cardboard box, I’ll include the full tracklist at the end of the page and here’s a link to the order page if you really, really, really want it. I guess they will send it anywhere?

Now I’ve made a playlist of youtube clips last year too if you want to see more because it was a 90’s Aussie TV show, it was on every Saturday morning over a few years. It when for like 9am to midday and had two or three bands/artists playing maybe two songs each plus house band too, then interviews with them all too. Plus anything else they could get away with on weekend morning TV which was thing like pre-recorded stuff maybe the hosts and band visiting some high school, movie reviews, social topic bits and other stuff that was going on at the time and the hosts do something about or even comedy sketches. That’s not very good describing skills there but hopefully you get the idea but I’m just guessing most people looking at this post would already know the show.

So it was the 20th Anniversary last year so it’s totally Aussie 90’s nostalgia thing really, I don’t know maybe people who wish they were they there too will get it. I was there and somewhat remember it and so much great music was played on the show and some I seem to have forget about so those are a few of the clips thrown in between my words here. So much is fitted on these four discs, it’s got to be to pushing the limit of what can be on a CD/DVD. It’s 20 tracks each on the CDs and 40 songs on the DVD both different too, it’s just got to be the max amount.

Almost every Aussie band at the time of the 90’s was on the show but some oversea touring bands popped up sometime. Some didn’t understand it was live TV like see how the rappers Pubic Enemy start to sound check in the middle of everything and just taken over the whole show, Flav is like go to an ad break but it was the ABC which didn’t have ads too but it’s epic watching and that’s on that playlist, not on this boxset. I remember more oversea touring bands on the show but it’s great the focus is on the Aussie bands which was very thier thing too in the 90’s. Maybe it was harder to get some artists/bands to sign the release form or something but it doesn’t matter in the end the volume of great Aussie bands in the 90’s is amazing and here where you get them if what some kind of intro or something. The CD been played a lot more but it was so great seeing all again and not on youtube too, I guess if you really want you could watch a lot of it on that already so why buy it? Well I did, did you too? Or are you going to get it now?
