Well, it’s that time of the year that we are getting announcements about up coming albums that are going to be released in 2018. The one I’m looking forward the very most is this one by Aussie Sarah Blasko. Her seventh, well that’s if you count her collaborative album from 2011 so sixth if you just counting her solo albums under her name. Anyway I’ve just pre-order this one which is released on 23rd Feb. 2018. I’ve been digging the first taste a lot by way of the above new video song called Phantom. One of ten tracks on this coming album, when seeing her live a few months back she did preview some of these live so I can’t wait for the studio versions because was her first total solo tour but what I can tell they’re full band and evolved from those. Yet another sneak preview was the ABC TV doco last month, if you missed and want to check it is linked here too. It seems to be steaming on the iveiw thingy as they call it there. I don’t know people from overseas can watch them or not? Amazingly to think this is her first to be recorded entirely in her home-town of Sydney, you know? I order the lenticular cover one and a signed something from here, if you wanna too?
So after the pre-ordering it I when YouTube-ing some of her older stuff and well here’s a very tiny brief history of Blasko which is one track from all her past releases as picked by me for you on this blog, enjoy!
Your Way from the debut EP called Prelusive in 2002:
Perfect Now from the debut album named The Overture & The Underscore in 2004:
{Explain} from the album What The Sea Wants, The Sea Will Have in 2006 which I did once wrote one of my classic albums post about it, linked here:
No Turning Back from As Day Follows Night album in 2009:
The collaborative album called Seeker Lover Keeper in 2011 with the song Light All My Lights as written by Holly Throsby and then performed by Blasko, SLK was with Sally Seltmann too:
All Of Me from the album called I Awake in 2012 which I might just have to write another CA post sometime about it because it’s overtaken WTSWTSWH as my fave Sarah album of all-time now, she can have two album in my list:
Pain Is A Number is from another collaboration with composer Nick Wales and from Emergence EP originally music from Sydney Dance Company in 2014. Plus that’s also Kirin J Callinan making all those crazy sounds effects and guitar noise:
I’d Be Lost from her last album Eternal Return from 2015:
So there’s eight tracks, one each from a part of Blasko’s career, so far!

Who else loves her out there and can’t wait for next year now? Or never heard her before and maybe now check her out more?
Cheers 🙂
