Just Jot It January: Coffee

OK, I’ve just discovered this tag thingy and I’m not to sure if I’m doing it right at all but it’s COFFEE! I love coffee but I don’t drink as much as I uses too, which was a lot and some did say too much! Now I think, maybe you just jot stuff down under the theme which is COFFEE! So here’s a list I made right now about my fave COFFEE! things ever:

My fave TV Show scene: F.B.I. Special Agent Dale Cooper drinks his first morning on early Twin Peaks season one episode (1989)

My fave Movie scene: Bill Murray joins Wu-tang Clan’s GZA and RZA in Jim Jarmusch’s Coffee & Cigarettes (2004)

Because my blog is really just a music blog here’s some songs to listen too now!

My fave 80’s Pop song: Starfish and Coffee by Prince

My fave 80’s Punk song: Black Coffee by Black Flag

My fave 70’s Folk-Rock song: One More Cup Of Coffee (Valley Below) by Bob Dylan

My fave 90’s Metal song: Caffeine by Faith No More

My fave Cover song or 90’s Trip-Hop track: Black Coffee by Nearly God (Tricky & Martina Topley-Bird)

My fave Old-Time 40’s song plus it’s the original of the track above too: Black Coffee by Sarah Vaughan

My fave old Blues 60’s song: Coffee House Blues by Lightnin’ Hopkins

My fave painting: My Coffee Cup by Philip Guston, oils on canvas, 1973

I have no idea if this is what you do or not because I’ve only looked at a couple of these posts but I guess I got to figure where to pingback it now? Find the rules, if any somewhere? I just got to excelling, you know? COFFEE! It’s too late now to have another one today 😦 but I can blog about it 🙂 now!

So you’re suppose to write stuff in this tag thingy. My drinking COFFEE! these days is I drink my morning COFFEE! and write a blog post most of the time it’s editing a draft one, they’re piling up. Have second, maybe third COFFEE! and finish the post off which gets published around 8AM give or taken, hopefully. I’m trying to get back into this swing of daily blogging after not doing it over the silly season for about two weeks. This is the second post today because around 5PM I looked and seen some of these pop up in my reader thingy so I’m randomly joining in now, I hope you don’t mind? I don’t know if I will jump on this bandwagon again but I will try and give it a go again, OK? So what I understand the prompt today COFFEE! both is to remind you and to inspire you to write. Which is what I try to do with my blog, I’m dyslexia so I’ve always struggled writing anything in the past but the idea of this blog was to write down what I known and love the most about: music! Anything and everything I known about it out of my mind, into this blog! I do this mainly drinking COFFEE! you know?

Just Jot It January is hosted by Linda G. Hill. Today’s word COFFEE! was suggested to us by Barbara at teleportingweena. I hope that work but if not I don’t why I haven’t blogged about COFFEE! before? I love it!

If anyone wants to share your fave COFFEE! songs with me? that would be cool!

  1. First songs that come to my mind are “Coffee” by the lovely husband/wife duo Sylvan Esso and “Knife in the Coffee” off Car Seat Headrest’s awesome self-released 2013 album “Nervous Young Man.” Also a lyric sticks out from CSH’s 2014 song “I Want You to Know I’m Awake/I Hope That You’re Asleep” about getting into a bad argument with a significant other “over something as stupid as making coffee.”
    Great post!

Abattoir Blues by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds “I woke up this morning with a frappuccino in my hand”
Woke Up New by The Mountain Goats “The first time I made coffee for just myself, I made too much of it
But I drank it all just cause you hate it when I let things go to waste”

Glenn Tipton by Sun Kil Moon “I put my feet up on the coffee table, I stay up late watching cable”
Eggs And Sausage (In A Cadillac With Susan Michelson) by Tom Waits “There’s a rendezvous of strangers around the coffee urn tonight, all the gypsy hacks, the insomniacs”
Got to be more? Maybe other post sometime!

  2. Thanks for writing to the prompt word, “coffee”! I think you’ve done it just right, and I enjoyed reading your thoughts. I’ll have to wait until later to listen to the songs/videos you mentioned, but will. I had no idea there were so many about coffee! 🙂
