Playlist: My Mixtapes #34

It’s a yet another mixtape for Monday, maybe I should start to call it that? It was last Monday when I did the last one, you know? Now as Spotify playlist too, as per requested by readers/listeners! I hope you are all now are listening to it? Or not? I guess, it’s better anyway because anyone, everyone only need to press play once, hey? So we are up to August 2005 now and I seem to have made three this month for some unknown reason to me now? Which are labeled as early, today’s one then are mid and late, which will be following sometime soon.

Early August 2005 Mixtape track listing is as follows:

  1. Blind Willie McTell by Bob Dylan
  2. Your Southern Can Is Mine by Blind Willie McTell
  3. Moonshiner by Cat Power
  4. Where Did You Sleep Last Night by Nirvana
  5. You Better Run by Junior Kimbrough
  6. Slow Night So Long by Kings Of Leon
  7. Stella Was A Driver And She’s Always Down by Interpol
  8. And This Day by The Fall
  9. I Am Hated by Slipknot
  10. Multinational Corporations by Napalm Death
  11. Cry by The Birthday Party
  12. The Mercy Seat by Johnny Cash
  13. It Severs Me Right To Suffer by John Lee Hooker
  14. Take Take Take by The White Stripes
  15. That Was My Veil by PJ Harvey & John Parish
  16. For the Widows in Paradise for the Fatherless in Ypsilanti by Sufjan Stevens
  17. Black Is the Color of My True Love’s Hair by Nina Simone
  18. You Got to Take Sick and Die Some of These Days by Muddy Waters

This time we only one track from each artist/act. No doubles or anything but the closest is I guess Blind Willie McTell having song written about him and then one he did himself or then Nick Cave wrote both The Birthday Party and Johnny Cash tracks. Say more blues songs and indie rock than anything else this time too. I suppose everyone now wants the YouTube streaming back?

Who enjoy that one then? Anything new to you? Got a fave track too?

Cheers 🙂
