Playlist: Where I Was In… 2000?

So here’s part three now for Saturday morning and three of these playlist/posts now in one week. If you did missed it I did the years 1995 and 1985 as my own playlists, fave tracks as such. Now it’s 2000 turn with 30 songs which I love the best, hopefully something for everyone but once again more indie than anything else really.

11 Aussie acts this time round with 13 Americans so more than the Aussies, this time. With only a couple of English but two Germans plus one French and one Iceland too. If your a flag-spotter, like me? There are four covers with the songwriters who are: I See A Darkness by Will Oldham aka Bonnie ‘Prince’ Billy who does sing backing vox on Cash’s cover. Red Apples was by Smog aka Bill Callahan who Cat Power aka Chan Marshall were both a very cute indie couple for a little while as well around this time. Death Letter is an old blues song by Son House which is dated back to 1930’s/40’s or something. Rabbit’s Revenge was original by The Melvins but not than you can tell or can you? Nick Cave did co-wrote Ute Lemper song so he does make it into my year 2000 list. Mark Lanegan is also singing/co-writing on QOTSA track too. But after saying the other day only one track from each artist, Thom Yorke is here twice but calling that duet more her than him because Björk co-written it with Lars von Trier, who also directed the film plus Thom guested on that PJ Harvey album but not on the track I’ve selected.
