I just got to have Scott Walker but it’s not off course his old 60’s or 70’s stuff I love the most, really it’s latest is his greatest. Well, for me at least so how about you? In 2012 is the year of Bish Bosch album but he’s done a soundtrack score and collaborative album since then which are pretty great too but nothing like a solo Scott Walker album! This one was being “the final installment in a trilogy” that also includes Tilt of 1995 and The Drift of 2006. Another soundtrack score is coming soon but who know’s when a brand new solo Walker album will come out?
This album is fourteenth studio solo album by Scott since 1967, I’m not counting any The Walker Brothers album. Bish Bosch is Walker’s longest studio album, as well as also containing his longest song. The album is 73 minutes long and track number four is almost 22 minutes long.
If you know nothing about him, so very quickly: American-born but became a British citizen in 1970. Known for distinctive baritone voice style and then for the totally unorthodox career path that has taken him from a 60’s pop icon with The Walker Brothers to the 21st-century avant-garde musician now with the likes of what you are listening now, if you pressed play? At the age of 75 years old this year he’s more challenging in later life than almost any young artist/s you can possibly think off?
Scott as nothing to do with Aussie Don Walker from that post a few week’s ago. Just the same last name which is the main problem with doing things alphabetic.
That’s it for my classic album today, enjoy!
