Top Ten Tracks: Pink Floyd

OK, I’m going to included some very big mainstream or at least very well-known acts with some of these top ten tracks posts because everything else I seem to be doing lately on my blog is NOT very well-known stuff. So everyone must knows who the hell Pink Floyd are, right? Must have an opinion about but these are my top picks by them today! Off course, this is my own personal fave songs so is not based on record sells or any other polls or charts and anything like that. Pinky was a very high school band from me and I would have say The Wall album back then but this what I listen to now or the last few years, seems I’ve done a total back flip and it would be more like this…

Astronomy Domine – The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967)

Interstellar Overdrive The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (1967)

Jugband Blues A Saucerful of Secrets (1968)

Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun – A Saucerful of Secrets (1968)

Careful With That Axe, Eugene – Ummagumma (1969)

Echoes – Meddle (1971)

The Great Gig in the Sky – The Dark Side of the Moon (1973)

Dogs Animals (1977)

Comfortably Numb – The Wall (1979)

Sorrow – A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987)

Right, from someone who says he don’t like much hippie 60’s music, I’ve gone and proved myself wrong with five tracks from three of their 60’s albums. Four tracks from one each of some their 70’s albums and just one from the 80’s is the final score. Songwriters score is, I think Syd B is the highest with David G is second place and then Roger W is third, if I remember right? Should double check that but wouldn’t do that!

I would say The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is my all-time fave Floyd album and did a year or two write a whole blog post about it, it’s linked here if you want to check it out? So I might try to do some more bigger names top 10 tracks posts like this on every Monday morning for a while and see what happens?

So now I’ve got to ask? Who’s going to share your own fave PF songs with me now?

62
60’s Pink Floyd!

Cheers 🙂
