So after my last week’s top ten tracks post, who can follow that? What about Tori Amos? She seems like the right and a great artist to do next! I’ve just got to totally mix it up, you know? I think people now, have kind-of forget how big she was in the 90’s these days? Even back in those 90’s days she didn’t really do what her records labels want her to do but had some huge hits anyway. At some point Amos’ big mainstream major label she was on gave-up on her which I think she really didn’t care about what they had to say anyway and has been doing her own thing before then. Today top ten tracks blog post, I’m mainly focusing on her 90’s with these songs I’ve picked out because they’re my all-time faves. I still love Tori so much now so does seem unfair and maybe should have included something a bit newer? But couldn’t not included any of the below tracks and in the end it’s just got to be these tens for me…
Me and a Gun – Little Earthquakes (1992)
God – Under the Pink (1994)
Blood Roses – Boys for Pele (1996)
Hey Jupiter – Boys for Pele (1996)
Putting the Damage On – Boys for Pele (1996)
Spark – From the Choirgirl Hotel (1998)
Playboy Mommy – From the Choirgirl Hotel (1998)
Bliss – To Venus and Back (1999)
Raining Blood – Strange Little Girls (2001)
A Sorta Fairytale – Scarlet’s Walk (2002)
So the adding or counting up is one song each from the two early albums. Yeah, the 1996 Boys for Pele album is easy my fave with three cuts from that and just totally impossible to edit down anymore than those songs. So I guess that means the follow-up album would also be my runner-up, if I was rating her albums too? Then one track each from the next three, including one from the whole album of covers but totally making that her own too, that ninth songs is by trash metal band Slayer which maybe it’s not so totally crazy for Tori Amos to follow last week’s post! It’s eight 90’s cuts and then two early 2000’s as my final score.

Can I ask you to tell me your fave TA song/s, please?
Cheers 🙂
Love Tori. Saw her live in the 90’s with just a piano and her voice. She rocked it up a storm. These two first big records had a huge impact. Boys for Pele is a fantastic record too and I’m rather fond of the Still Orbiting live disc that came with To Venus And Back.

I like her a lot, but I’ve spent the most time with Little Earthquakes and my favourite is Tear In Your Hand.
