Top Ten Tracks: The Rolling Stones

So if Bowie last week needs no intro, these blokes don’t! Once again they’re some big hits below but I do like to dig around back catalogs of artists/bands so it’s not all just the greatest hits? Maybe, this ten might be the closest to that of all the huge big names lately I’ve blog my top ten fave tracks! Even so let’s just get on with it now…

Not Fade Away – U.K. Single/U.S.A. version of self-titled debut album (1964)

Paint It Black –  Aftermath (1966)

Street Fighting ManBeggars Banquet (1968)

Wild Horses – Sticky Fingers (1971)

Dead Flowers – Sticky Fingers (1971)

Rip This Joint – Exile on Main St. (1972)

Loving Cup – Exile on Main St. (1972)

Far Away Eyes – Some Girls (1978)

Shattered – Some Girls (1978)

Emotional Rescue – Emotional Rescue (1980)

The Stones final score board is three from 60’s, one from 80’s and the rest are the 70’s with six tracks. Does everyone know that opening track is a Buddy Holly song? Three 70’s albums in double figures but sometime last year I did name Some Girls as my all-time fave Rolling Stones record, linked here if you need more RS today?

    Jumpin’ Jack Flash
    Paint It, Black
    Wild Horses
    Street Fighting Man
    Miss You
    19th Nervous Breakdown
    She’s So Cold

  2. My kind of Stones-Love has started late. In the age of 20 or something. And I never was a fan. There was “Love you live”, “Beggars banquet” and “some girls” on tape recorded and the dust was raising over that tapeboxes.
short after 2000 I felt, that Stones are missing in my CD Collection. I bought “Beggars Banquet” and remembered all the medial hype in Radio among the “black and blue” Tour, and a chaotic short concert in Kiel at that time. So I bought “Black and blue”. I was surprised about the music! Its the Stones Record I played most.
But my “favorites” (but I don’t need that stuff everyday) are:

    1. Tears go by
    2. wild horses
    3. dead flowers
    4. undercover of the night
    5. far away eyes
    6. hot stuff
    7. honky tonk woman (liveversion from “love you live”)
    8. play with fire
    9. fool to cry
    10. Peter Tosh & Mick Jagger “Don’t look back” I don’nt get 10 numbers together.

    1. Oh yeah, i remember you saying Black And Blue album would be your fave or most played when replying to my Some Girls album post whenever that was? For a Stones album it’s a little under rated because i enjoy that time of them, maybe i really should have included something from it and the other albums around then, not double songs from those two or three 70’s RS albums! Anyway more wicked cool tracks on your list and thanks again for joining in! 🙂
