Hiding Songs: The Garden by Einstürzende Neubauten

You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain
You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain
You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain
You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain
You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain
You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain
You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain
You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain
You will find me waiting for the spring and summer
You will find me waiting for the fall
You will find me waiting for the apples to ripen
You will find me waiting for them to fall
You will find me by the banks of all four rivers
You will find me by the spring of consciousness
You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain
You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain
You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain
You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain
You will find me if you want me in the garden
Unless it’s pouring down with rain

After three 2000’s songs for the opening couple of weekends of 2019 with these Hiding Songs posts including the lyrics with songs in much kind-of shorter posts I’m going back to the 90’s now! Today’s track and lyrics are by a German band singing in English, would have to be one of my all-time fave 90’s songs ever! The Garden was the seventh track on 1996 album entitled Ende Neu but I remember at time some fans seem confused or maybe just totally color blind or something else? Because some did think it was like a self-titled album but the titled was included in the band name on the front cover in red and the rest of Einstürzende Neubauten was in blue like that but it was in cap locks bold.

It was all very minimal for them around this time with the front album cover having just a eye look back at you and all this pink flesh but none the rest of the face features. Plus this official promo video and then the another one which was another black & white one but that shot in some hotel/motel rooms. I read somewhere Blixa Bargeld once did say he overheard the main lyric line at museum art gallery when a lady was tell her man who were maybe husband and wife where she be waiting for him, off course unless it’s pouring down with rain.

Blixa Bargeld in his hat!

BTW If anyone care or wants to know what else I’m doing this Saturday morning? I’m editing The Drones RAGE! playlist which I did post up earlier this week sometime but is most likely the blog post almost no one gives a shit about of all my 2019’s ones so far! Anyway because of that fact or not, I’m adding all the missing songs because it wasn’t complete playlist. Sometime later today it will be, if you wanna listen to it or not?

Cheers 🙂

  1. Ende neu was a schock. So silent. First Impression: Boring all over. If you want Neubauten, you want Sonic Ka-boom with apocalyptic lyrics! But after the 4th or 5th rotation in the player – it starts working. But its not my favorite.

    1. Fair call, if it’s not your thing, that’s cool! 🙂
I do remember when I did see EN live in melbourne, The Garden was one of the only songs they played both the two nights. When they did play it, your right it’s seems so very quite but then Blixa’s screaming at the end of the track just somehow lasted forever or that’s how I think or remember it but off course it didn’t because I would still there listening to him screaming now! 🙂
