Wicked Songs: Lady of Light by Larry “Ratso” Sloman & Nick Cave

Just in case you missed it? I’m going to blog about it! Sometime in the last 24 hours the first new music by Cave this year was release and it’s a duet with the author Larry “Ratso” Sloman. At 70 years old or it’s it young? “Ratso” is releasing his debut album in April and this is the first taste of it!

He’s wrote an account of Bob Dylan’s 1975 Rolling Thunder Revue tour with On the Road with Bob Dylan, co-wrote both Howard Stern the radio personality’s two books with Private Parts and Miss America, co-wrote both Mike Tyson ex-heavyweight boxing champion’s two books with Undisputed Truth and Iron Ambition also Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Anthony Kiedis autobiography Scar Tissue plus so much more. I think Cave’s fave written by him was when he termed up with renowned magic expert/theorist William Kalush with The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America’s First Superhero of 2006 which did somewhat inspired the title track of 2008 Bad Seeds album Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!! You know? Larry explaining in great detail in their deluxe edition of 2017’s Lovely Creatures: The Best of…

Anyway Sloman debut entitled Stubborn Heart also including his cover version of Bob Dylan’s Sad Eyed Lady of The Lowlands and features eight original tracks some John Cale co-wrote and other guest artists are Warren Ellis, Sharon Robinson, Yasmine Hamdan, and Imani Coppola.

Bonus extra old song today is:

Ratso and Nick at The Morbid Anatomy Library!

Cheers 🙂
