I love this man and now over this weekend on his Red Hand Files website, he’s named his most “treasured love songs” by other artists. So I’ve dug about on YouTube and embedded them all above and blogging or sharing them myself too. Check out the full issue #32 linked here. It sounds like they’re back in the recording studio in Los Angeles working on the new Bad Seeds album more before his May and June tour of Europe & the UK, here’s hoping the recording sessions all works out! If you haven’t got your tickets to one of the dates of that tour, your missing out big time! It would have to be one of the most wonderful night seeing Mr. Cave live on stage and I’ve pretty much seen every tour here since I turned 18! I’m guessing it’s going to be just as great over there too but I think, it’s all sold out already!

In other whatever you call it, if anyone wants to knows? I’ve also finally put the finishing touches or just got it together on my own little list which was very long in the end of my own hiding songs which he kind-of asked me for back in January, three month later I was brave to press send to him but it was a big messy like this blog is most of the time. The non question or my reply to Nick fuckin’ Cave was very hard thing to do and who knows what the man himself will make of it all? Thinking now and typing about it here, if I got something like it? I would be deleting myself!

Cheers 🙂

  1. Not exactly what I imagined his treasured love songs would be. I’m not sure what I was picturing, but very cool nonetheless. I was going to ask what was meant by ‘Hiding Songs’ until I reread the earlier post on his website.

Have you revealed your ‘Hiding Songs’? Keep us informed if he does reply to what you sent.

    Cheers

      1. Agreed that would be hard. I did have a cassette mix of maudlin love songs when I was a morose young man. Being I have been married for sometime now, I don’t listen to them much, or have the time/energy to discover newer songs that make me sad. Lol
Maybe i can listen to all the breakup songs by Taylor Swift?

Definitely a few classics off the top of my head. The Hunter’s, Throw your arms around me’ . Ed Kuepper, The way you made me feel. Boys next door, Shivers. Crowded House, Fall at your feet. Madonna, Like a Virgin…😂

    1. Oh well, he’s already answered my one or two Q and replied to me once so I’m really pushing my luck now! https://a1000mistakes.wordpress.com/2019/01/01/nick-cave-answer-my-question-on-his-website-the-red-hand-files/
That’s my little post after that back in January, i don’t know if you’ve seen that? I’m now making a playlist of my own songs, should have think of that before? I can’t image him sitting around googling songs all night or day! sounds like he’s very busy with new bad seeds album, i wonder what it’s like? i can’t wait to hear it! But yeah yeah, your so right about that, he’s is a very lovely man!
      Cheers Kevin 🙂
