Playlist: Hiding Songs

OK, off course this is my own hiding songs or the ones I think qualified! After sending a completely bonkers message/questions to the man himself, I’ve made a playlist of all the songs I send him! He’s already answered my question I send him last year, I even cheated and asked him about his band mate Warren Ellis which he did say he even called him up in Paris about it too! Cave asked me back or anyone for that matter to send him songs that are your own hiding songs? Thinking about this for the last three months, I press send after he put up ten love songs on last weekend which I’ve blogged about, off course! Now I’ve made all the tracks which just a big list of song titles into a playlist after someone here asking what are they? Which I should have done this before sending that reply and wrote something a tiny little bit better too, might have helped! Anyway it’s all done now, I can’t un-send but I’m not sending him another one going here’s another one from that crazy guy again!

Any-who I myself couldn’t get it down to just ten songs, it’s 45 and six by Cave himself too which I was thinking I can’t not have him on my own list but that might have been a bit silly sending him his own songs! They to me all fit into what he wrote about in his book and website, he’s most likely been send hundreds, thousands, millions of songs by everyone and anyone after saying what he said on his website at the start of the year! I think after doing this blog for a few years now, if I’ve came to realizes anything it’s songs mean all sorts of different things depending who’s listening to it? So this playlist above might mean nothing to whoever press play and is listening too it but all meant kind-of what Cave was talking about, maybe even other things than that which words can’t even explain? I should shut-up now but I do hope you enjoy them, if you do have a listen to these tracks?

Nick Cave spent much of the mid-1980’s writing his first novel “And the Ass Saw the Angel” in Berlin which was in this tiny little space!

Cheers 🙂

  1. OMG! With 45 hiding songs, when do you have time to NOT hide?? 🙂 Some of these I know, most of them I don’t. I think I only have 1 hiding song. I wake up in the morning and the birds are singing — that’s the song, and I hide until the following morning; repeat ad nauseum! 🙂

  2. Nice, I look forward to listening to the ones I am not familiar with.
I can hide myself away in almost any song/album that I like.

I remember dragging my friends with me to see a play version of And the Ass Saw the Angel, during the Fringe Ass Festival In Melbourne back in 93/95?
