Top Ten Tracks: Taylor Swift

So I said I’ll do some of the biggest and newer acts of all-time last weekend so who’s bigger that Swifty these days? Right now? Most likely NOT someone who you think I would blog about but it’s her one and only blog post, so far! Make the most of it, if you like? She has a brand new album is coming out this month, is her seventh studio album entitled Lovers. Anyway, I do listen to pop music sometimes and she does know how to write a catchy song so my own fave top ten is…

You Belong With Me – Fearless (2008)

Bette Davis Eyes – Speak Now World Tour Live (2011)

We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together – Red (2012)

I Almost Do – Red (2012)

Blank Space – 1989 (2014)

Out Of The Woods – 1989 (2014)

Shake It Off – 1989 (2014)

Bad Blood – 1989 (2014)

I Wish You Would – 1989 (2014)

Clean – 1989 (2014)

Scoreline is nine 2010’s tracks and just one from 2000’s and her 1989 album is my clean winning album of her’s with six cuts today, I’ve totally missed other albums out. I think she the songwriter or co-songwriter of all song and Kim Carnes’ Bette Davis Eyes is my fave cover song she’s done. Almost all of my TTT posts do have covers but maybe, I should have done them all in different posts but tooo late now! Have I said that before?

From next weekend’s TTT post let’s change to rap music, OK?

Swifty in very big jacket sometime with someone?

Anyway that’s my TS blog post almost over now, almost painless or not? What are your own fave song/s of her’s? Or what say something else about her? Please do, feel free below!

Cheers 🙂

  1. I think she gets unfairly vilified – she’s like a poster girl for anyone who wants to attack modern music. She gets dismissed as a flash in the pan (she’s been huge since 2006), someone reliant on collaborators (she wrote an entire album by herself), and as a non-musician (if you watch her rock and roll hall of fame show, she’s a competent player). She’s not an all-time favourite, but she’s very good at the detailed, diary style of lyric writing that she does. My favourites, like yours, are largely from Red and 1989:

    Style
    Red
    Our Song
    Starlight
    Welcome To New York
    Getaway Car
    Begin Again
    Mine
    New Romantics
    Change

  2. Well, this is a huge surprise! I like of lot of mainstream and pop music, but though I’ve listened to a lot of her stuff, I just don’t care for much of Taylor Swift’s music. The few songs I do like are:

I Knew You Were Trouble (Red)
    Style (1989)
    You Belong With Me (Fearless)
    Wildest Dreams (1989)

  3. I only recently heard anything that I knew as hers.. You Need To Calm Down(?) which I didn’t hate… as much as I love Ryan Adams’ 1989 I, again, only just heard a couple of the ‘originals’ too. Jury is still out for me but I’ll give this list some time as soon as I find my headphones
