OK, let’s just do the third season after last month’s second season post, linked here. Then the first season post I blog along time ago last year and for some unknown reason waited until only now-ish to follow that up, that season one is linked here.
Anyway Mahershala Ali in the lead role of detective Wayne Hays and Stephen Dorff plays his partner detective Roland West. The music wasn’t quite as cool wicked this time around but maybe that’s for the fact it’s got zero Nick Cave songs and just seem to be a lot less music in general for third season too. I think, the best season for the music alone is the second one which was off course the season everyone hate or disliked so much. I really did enjoy watching all three seasons but they made everyone wait four years until earlier this year after the backlash of 2015’s season two. I don’t think I’ll go into it all like I did last month because I was kind-of just defending season 2 and saying it wasn’t as bad as it was made out to be. Season three did seem to come and go without people caring one way or another but critics did say it was a return to form, if that means anything? All three TD seasons come highly reco by me, if that means anything too?
BTW I would totally recommend reading the novel by Nic Pizzolatto, the shows creator and main or head writer. His novel called Galveston which was first published in 2010 which was a few years before the TV show. It tells story from the criminal point a view and does have a bit of that life long thing that works so well in TD season 1 and 3. Until I just googled it right now, I didn’t know it’s been turned into a movie last year but who knows if that’s any good? The novel is a great read, worth checking out!

Cheers 🙂
Good memories here of a series that grew better and better, as the detec tives’ friendship deepened. Loved it when they were old guys still entranced by their past actions and mistakes.
