I’m hammering through this A-Z thingo right now, part twenty today! My own little award show again with fave or greatest 80’s band of all-time goes to: The Triffids! I’m picking Tarrilup Bridge song, it is from Born Sandy Devotional album of 1986 but it’s the one sung by Jill Birt. I think, after 20 posts of these A-Z thingos I might just be repeating myself? But maybe you didn’t check them out last time I blogged them? Or do you know them very well like me so really don’t mind me rabbiting on again about The Triffids?
6 more letter “T” song I’m giving to you now:
Anne Cessna & Essendon Airport – Talking To Cleopatra (1980)
Buffalo Tom – Taillights Fade (1992)
You Am I – Tuesday (1995)
Abbe May – Taurus Chorus (2011)
Melodie Nelson – Take Me For A Ride (2012)
Little Ugly Girls – Tractor (2018)
Well, that’s almost all Aussie again minus one! Got to asking you which one you dig the most?

Cheers 🙂
‘The sky was big and empty
My chest filled to explode
I yelled my insides out at the sun
At the wide open road’
Hey William! ‘Wide Open Road’ still goes off in my head at least once a month …

No mate. To be honest, I know very little about them. But they were around when I was sort of about myself – but a bit too vain to give enough credit to others. I think I always knew that they were important, though.
I will certainly look into it.

Melodie Nelson has nicked the riff from the Beatles’ ‘Taxman’, which was stolen again by Paul Weller for the Jam’s ‘Start’.
Nice collection….hadn’t come across ANY of these before!
