Only one end of year blog post for me and is here now on this Monday morning!
In my 5th annual top ten albums of the last 12 month plus six more who can be file under those different category’s below my albums of 2019! So it’s much shorter and sweeter for my end of this year thingy! Somehow, last year I think? I had four or five end of year posts but let’s just have one only this time, OK? Really this year was even better than last year’s new music so it’s was very hard to just name ten but that’s what I’ve been doing for the last four years. I’ve embedding all of them because you might check out something you don’t know or something? I’ll say now: it’s not like the more posts the better or something?
Sorry, I can’t be stuffed making a huge playlist of all my fave songs like I have done twice in the last 12 months or every six months lately. Only really because after I make those, I don’t even listen to them never again and who knows if anyone else does? So let’s just forget about that, OK? I think, the title track of my album of the year would be my song of the year, if you still like to know? So let’s start with that, right now!
My song of 2019 is: Venus in Leo by HTRK
My album of 2019 is, which I’ve said it before it would be this so I’ve not changed my mind:
Venus in Leo by HTRK
In order by kind-of release date, is my other nine albums I’m going to highlight of this year which are:
Remind Me Tomorrow by Sharon Van Etten
Environment by My Disco
Girl with Basket of Fruit by Xiu Xiu
Inferno by Robert Forster
Shepherd In A Sheepskin Vest by Bill Callahan
Driveway Heart Attack by The Fauves
Braindrops by Tropical Fuck Storm
leaving meaning. by Swans
Ghosteen by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
My other highlights of the year can be easy filed under these five categories:
EP of 2019 is: Super Natural by Jonnine
Soundtrack album of 2019 is: Over The Rainbow by HTRK
7″ non-album stand alone single of 2019 is: Nothing by Batpiss
Live album of 2019 is: Henryk Górecki’s Symphony No. 3 (Symphony Of Sorrowful Songs) by Beth Gibbons, Krzysztof Penderecki & Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra
Reissue album of 2019 is: Travelin’ Thru 1967–69: The Bootleg Series Vol.15 by Bob Dylan featuring Johnny Cash
Artist of 2019: last year Erica Dunn did win my 1st artist of year award show in 2018 so after typing out all that stuff above the very clear winner this year, the one and only artist if I could give them an award of some kind in 2019 would easy be: Jonnine Stardish of HTRK. Who’s also won, if you haven’t notices? 1: song, 2: album, 3: EP, 4: soundtrack and now 5 awards with artist of the year too!

Cheers 🙂
Of course you’ll be doing an End of Decade post, no more than myself. Ahem. Congrats on a great year!
