First post of 2020 can be this but I don’t know why I do this anymore? I’m so far from the market group of listeners to triple J radio and in reality never/ever listen to it anymore myself! I guess, I find it interesting or something? I think, I’ve blog my votes every year here so why stop now? Once again I’m doing just that, if you can’t tell? These votes of mine are picked from the huge long list of songs on triple’s j Hottest 100 website, linked here which are the most played and requested tracks of last year. I guess, I vote to see what they have been playing because like I’ve already said I don’t listen to them but I might check out the Hottest 100 countdown which is at the end of January sometime?
You can’t vote for 100 songs yourself but your own top ten, they ask for you to pick your number 1 song too? Surprise mine was TFS! I’ve included YouTube clips below to all my voted for top 10 songs with my fave cover as performed on their Like A Versions show tagged on the end. I’ve missed blogging some of these songs last year so it’s good for something? Off course, some of my most very fave artists of last year like HTRK or Nick Cave etc. are NOT Triple J listed artists/songs so the’re totally missing below! I really don’t know what makes an artist/song more popular on this national radio station? It’s suppose to be for Aussie youth or something? Please do note: it’s NOT really my most fave songs of 2019 but here’s what I did voted for:
KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD – Cyboogie
SLEATER-KINNEY – Hurry On Home
PIST IDIOTS – Motor Runnin
KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD – Mars For The Rich
EDDY CURRENT SUPPRESSION RING – Our Quiet Whisper
STELLA DONNELLY – Old Man
THE CHATS – Pub Feed
WEST THEBARTON – Tops
TROPICAL FUCK STORM – Who’s My Eugene?
RUBY FIELDS – The Unguarded Moment {triple j Like A Version} [The Church cover]
So what do you think of those songs? Did you vote in Hottest 100 yet? If so what did you choose? Please share!

Cheers 🙂
My fave was Pist Idiots.

Really liked the Stella Donnelly tune and the Chats were really fun. I also enjoyed Sleater Kinney’s video – kind of a neat concept to do a lyric video via a text stream.

Cool. I’m going to use Stella Donnelly and Tropical Fuck Storm on my radio show. (I can’t say the TFS bandname in full, I’ll have to be creative in talking around it.)

Oh wicked, it’s just TFS for short and i guess you wouldn’t be the 1st not saying the f word on radio? I’ve notices some just say tropical f storm but you’ve most likely got that covered anyway! 🙂

We have unfortunately regulations here about the f-word. I cannot say on the air, “shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, tits!” There’s a good article about this on Wikipedia (and a blog post that I haven’t had time to write…)
