Song of the Day: Act Your Age by Brian Henry Hooper

So this Friday morning post is one more track starting with the word Act and the letters Ac… because I’ve finally found it online, it’s not on Youtube at all but off course it’s on Bandcamp! It’s the second last track on his posthumously album What Would I Know? of a couple of years ago now. I think, the streaming playing thingy just above with play the very last song too but I’ve embedded the whole album just below as well, so play both or take your pick? Or you can buy the vinyl from Spanish label Bang records, linked here!

Brain Henry Hooper was another great Perth W.A. muso, mainly a bass player who died age 55 of motherfuckin’ cancer! Another one who moved to Melbourne, Victoria and he played bass for both Rowland S. Howard, Kim Salmon but most well known for Beasts Of Bordon but he did released a few solo albums too!

Steve Boyle played piano, Wurlitzer, harmonica organ on this song, he’s the only one who plays on all the songs. Another muso I dig a lot guested on five of the album’s tracks on electric guitar is Gareth Liddiard. Also Jason Bunn played viola on three tracks so it’s much more of a stripped back album than his other ones which are more rock n roll band type of albums, his four earlier albums can be found linked here. I did heard a rumor he did something else before passing away but I don’t know if that’s true or not? Nothing else has yet be release since this:

Cheers! 🙂
