Song of the Day: Aftermath by Tricky

Back to English today with some mid-90’s trip-hop, if you want tooo listen? Maxinquaye of 1995 was Tricky debut solo album after leaving Massive Attack but really it’s wasn’t totally solo because it included vocalist Martina Topley-Bird very heavy plus Alison Goldfrapp, Ragga and Mark Stewart all performing additional vocals. Tricky is co-produced but I guess, the main thing is Tricky written and composed all minus a couple of the album’s tracks. Did you know? Both Topley-Bird and Tricky had one daughter Mina Mazy born on 19 March 1995 and she sadly died on 8 May 2019. So she was born one month after the release of Maxinquaye too! Aftermath was the very early lead single/video which was released in January 1994 put out over one year before the album, Maxinquaye did finally appeared in February 1995.
