Song of the Day: Alarm Call by Björk

This one above is the sped-up radio version or video clip of the song but the album version is below too! From her third studio album Homogenic of 1997 was the eight song or third last track on it. It’s totally beastie Bjork and her 90’s music is most likely the period that’s most well-known so I don’t know what else I can tell you really? But I found a very cool podcast about the Homogenic album with Aussie singer-songwriter Sarah Blasko saying it’s one of her fave albums with a shouldn’t meet your hero story, linked here if you wanna listen to it?

So my alphabet order after the main letter “A” have skipped the following “j” and “k” so going onto the Al… something words today! I’m going to be culling this a lot because they’re a huge pile of words starting with Al… something so that means that’s huge pile of songs too!

Did you know Björk is now on the Bandcamp website?

Alarm Call lyrics:

Wo-oo-ooh hoh!
I have walked this earth
And watched people
It doesn’t scare me at all
I can be sincere
And say I like them
It doesn’t scare me at all
An-bithelafter-mer
An-yeah-hoh-oh
An-be-ja-a-a-ha-ha
You can’t say no to hope
Can’t say no to happiness
I want to go on a mountain-top
With a radio and good batteries
And play a joyous tune and
Free the human race
From suffering
It doesn’t scare me at all
I’m no fucking Buddhist
But this is enlightenment
The less room you give me
The more space I’ve got
It doesn’t scare me at all
An-chamel-after
An-yeah-hoh-oh
An-be-ja-a-a-ha-ha
You can’t say no to hope
Can’t say no to happiness
It doesn’t scare me at all
I want to be on a mountain-top
With a radio and good batteries
And play a joyous tune and
Free the
A-human race
From suffering
It doesn’t scare me at all
This is an alarm-call
So wake-up, wake-up now
Woo-oo-ooh!
Today has never happened
And it doesn’t frighten me
It doesn’t scare me at all
An-bithel-after
An-yeah-hoh-oh
An-che-ja-a-a-ha-ha
You can’t say no to hope
You can’t say no to happiness
Wo-oo-ooh!
It doesn’t scare me at all, wo-oo-ooh!
