So this Friday morning I’ve got post-punk epic of ten and half mins. from the Metal Box album or sometimes entitled Second Edition of 1979. The second album by Public Image Ltd. or sometimes shorten to PiL. This track was the album’s opening song as well, Wikipedia has a very good and long page all about it, linked here.
So it’s the second and last Albatross song in my SOTD posts! Sorry to anyone else who’s got a song called “Albatross” but I can’t have them all, having a couple is really pushing it a bit I think?
Stream full album on YouTube:
Albatross words:
Slow motion, slow motion
Getting rid of the albatross
Sowing the seeds of discontent
I know you very well, you are unbearable
I’ve seen you up far too close
Getting rid of the albatrossFrying rear blinds
If I wanted
Should I really
If I run away, run awayRiding along on the crest of the wave
Getting rid of the albatross
Another will not forget
I know you very wellRun away, run away
Should I
I run away
Getting rid of the albatross
I know you very well, you are unbearable
I see you far too close
If I wanted to, if
Run away, run away
I ran away, I ran away

Cheers! 🙂
Levene and Wobble made some really great music without Lydon. Look out for their record called Yin and Yang
