Song of the Day: Alice by Tom Waits

So lucky Alice is such a poplar name she has now a couple of songs in my continuing SOTD posts today!

I know for a fact this Alice song/album is the one based on the children book called Alice In Wonderland, the 1865 novel by Lewis Carroll. It’s the title track and Tom Waits’ Alice album was released in 2002 but was originally mostly all the songs were from a theatre play of 1992, I don’t know why he waited so long too put it out? It’s Tommy so he can do whatever the hell he feels like, I guess? It’s yet another album opening song and it’s on Bandcamp so I’m embedded the whole thing above, if you press play you have to press stop but why don’t you just listen to the whole thing?

      1. There’s an outbreak in Auckland and they have no idea where it came from, it has made everyone a bit paranoid but it’s small scale compared to what is happening in Melbourne. It gets tiring to even talk about it though, if you know what i mean? I just come onto wordpress to just escape it all and post happy stuff to take my mind off it and I know it helps others when I do this. I am glad it’s all under control in WA, or seem to be. You take care care too, good to hear from you 🙂
