OK, it’s Wednesday eighties today and we’re into the third out of four of these decades TTT lists/posts! Can I think of anything smart or new to say that hasn’t been say in the last couple of days? Maybe, NOT! If some reason you’ve missed/skipped those posts/lists, it’s pretty easy to figure out out what in hell’s name is happening here? It’s my very own all-time fave songs in decade timelines, it’s one song per artist and in no particular order! So the very best ten 80’s songs, well according to me are…
Town With No Cheer by Tom Waits from Swordfishtrombones (1983):
Cloudbusting by Kate Bush from Hounds Of Love (1985):
Jerdacuttup Man by The Triffids from Calenture (1987):
Drop Out by Beasts of Bourbon from The Axeman’s Jazz (1984):
North By North by The Bats from Daddy’s Highway (1987):
Janitor by Suburban Lawns from Suburban Lawns (1981):
The Classical by The Fall from Hex Enduction Hour album (1982):
Z.N.S. by Einstürzende Neubauten from Halber Mensch (1985):
Eternally Yours by Laughing Clowns from Law Of Nature (1983):
Sad Waters by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds from Your Funeral… My Trial (1986):
OK, so punk when post-punk by now which I do love just as much but I’m trying to limited myself again, you know? I guess, those couple of opening tracks of Tommy and Katie would be the major label releases so maybe, the most well known? Everything else was on indie labels so could be less popular? I don’t know but all I really know is I totally love all these tracks above! Score line is four Aussies, couple English, couple Americans, one German and one New Zealander this time around the block/world! But Bad Seeds recorded in Germany, Fall recorded in Iceland, Triffids were in the UK at that point. Seems I’ve gone more early and mid eighties and missing the late out totally. I’ve banged on and on about all these artists/songs/albums so you’ve most likely seen/heard them all on my little blog before, sorry if you’ve sick of them but I’m off course NOT! Any questions? Please let me know what you think of them, if you like? Or maybe, your own top ten from those ten years, if you’ve made one yourself before or maybe come up with one now yourself?
End note and now editing: no more American pollies because I don’t really wanna get into shitty things on my tiny blog but now it seems I’ve gone into horror movies, I don’t know why?

Cheers! 🙂
God William, your and my music tastes are so radically different, it’s like we’re from different planets!

Oh yeah, it’s bloody wicked great song but it missed out on your 80’s list! I’ve just found your 80’s list so I DON’T have to ask where is it, I might have to add my own lists to the end of your posts and all those comments, or is that a bit pointless now? checking out what everyone else says tooo because do know some of the bloggers? Anyway great job yet again!
Cheers! 🙂

My list was hits – ‘The Classical’ wasn’t a hit. Leaving the door open for a deep cuts/failed singles list down the line somewhere.

Oh right, that’s like mainstream or major label hits? because on the UK indie charts The Fall always did pretty well, I think? Like underground or whatever you what to call it? But yeah, that’s a good idea because I’m always more interested in digging a little deeper!
Cheers 🙂

OK, I really should have come up with a diff pics but I guess, it gives contexts? Maybe, we can digging him up and he’s could do a better job even if he’s dead! I’m an Aussie so maybe, shouldn’t be saying anything about that? But we have a saying here “all the way with LBJ” have you hear that one before? Anyway glad you enjoy the music, which is the main thing really, hey?
Cheers Stan 🙂
