Playlist: Yearly 1997 list

So it’s back to the 90’s again for this Monday morning blog post and finally going to be my continuing the backward order for those yearly playlists posts plus the next one up, if you don’t remember what the hell I’m up toooo? It’s 97 for today!

What else can I say or what I didn’t say the last couple of times but one of re-shuffles has been moving one of the very best video clips, to the opening song spot, you know? So the 99 one was Augie March, Magic Dirt was on 98 one and this time is Regurgitator, if you wanna know? The last couple of playlists I did get the Aussie tracks rounded to 50 songs but NOT getting to that this time around, it’s only 39 plus then the few Kiwis following with only four more this time so everyone else or the rest of the world follows at number 44. Grand total now is at 120 songs which is the same length as the last one but ten short of than the first one I re-worked but I guess, well over hundred tracks is we’ll say the target or at least for all the 90’s playlists. Maybe, should try for same length or something? Linking 1999 and 1998 posts, if you missed them or wanna go back to see/listen or something? If they do have a video clip I’ve try to including them but sometime doesn’t seem to happen for whatever reason/s? Oh yeah, also trying now to put all the cover songs together too. Plus the old rule, I should say for these yearly playlists is only one track per artist per year but albums sometimes, you might notices like say some comp albums do get more than one song!

Today I’ll name Mogwai’s debut album I think as my own most fave album of 1997 which was entitled Young Team and the song included is R U Still In 2 It is moved now to number 44, starting where all the overseas acts do. My fave Aussie one would be easy The Paradise Motel’s Still Life, totally under-rated gem so Calling You is second song in! What would be your own fave song/video clip/album and even plurals, if you wanna share far below? What about anything I’ve missed, that you think I should include? Once again, ending on one of my fave movie of the year as the feature image! Which even if I’m NOT a movie blogger but now almost all my bloody posts at the moment seem to have feature images of female actors/actress! Anyway years ago when going this the first time around and I still think the best film of that year is David Lynch’s Lost Highway but I did have an image for that last time while doing these type of posts so picking something else today? I’ll say runner-up or at least top five would be Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element which was like big blockbuster weirdo Sci-fi. So what would you say was the best/your fave movie/s of 97 then?
