Playlist: Yearly 1994 list

So are you sick of bloody Xmas songs this year yet? Well, I am so here’s over hundred songs from the year 94 which is going to be pretty much my very last playlist of this year! If you wanna check it out? Or you need to play something else over this silly season? I’m kind-of almost starting today post with my little award show of 94 which, drum role the winners are:

The best/my favorite video clip of this year goes to Jaimme’s Got A Gal by You Am I

The best/my favorite Aussie album of the year was Let Love In by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds

The best/my favorite Oversea album of this year is Whiskey for the Holy Ghost by Mark Lanegan

Editing more of those yearly award shows winners into my yearly playlist posts which so far, has been 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998 and 1999. I don’t know if anyone out there can be fuck-a-roo to go back and check them all out but whatever they’re there!

Mainly once again I’ve tried very hard for only one track per artist but some acts do break that rule a little because Nine Inch Nails had a studio album, Trent produced Natural Born Killers soundtrack and did a cover on The Crow soundtrack so has three on this playlist. With doubles are Ed Kuepper, Hunters & Collectors, Rollins Band, Pantera, Sonic Youth and Dinosaur Jr. who all did a studio albums and did covers of a classic songs I just must included. Beck put out a couple albums, one on major label and one on indie and Will Oldham had an EP under Palace Songs and then an album under the name Palace Brothers. Plus Spencer P. Jones put out his now classic track and then Ross Wilson covered it in the very same year of his release. Also both Joy Division and New Order, if you kind-of count them as the same band has three covers done of them in this year tooooo!

An end note on today’s feature image: It’s French by way of Poland film today, with the final of the Three Colors movie trilogy which were director by Krzysztof Kieslowski. I did use an image of Three Colors: Blue when original posting these playlists, whenever that was? Off course, picking something this time around. Three Colors: White film was the more funny of the three movies…

Wave goodbye, it’s Julie Delpy as Dominique in Three Colors White.

Cheers! 🙂
