Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana (1991)
Creep by Radiohead (1992):
Streets Of Philadelphia by Bruce Springsteen (1993):
One by U2 (1991):
Killing In The Name by Rage Against The Machine (1992)
OK, here’s what’s happening today: it’s a flashback to the 90’s when I was younger and I’m picking some of the singles/video clips I got sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo sick and tired of seeing/listening way back then. Pointing out these days, I really don’t mind them now! Most likely, don’t go out of my way to listen but I’ll say they’re pretty great songwriting, I’ll admitted that today! Yeah, I don’t need to say Nirvana totally broken the mainstream with that song, knocked Micheal fucking Jackson from number one spot then and everything else but after a little/long while I didn’t want to listen to it anymore, you know what I mean or maybe NOT? Also I know this post could easy be renamed the greatest songs of early 90’s tooooo!
Cheers! 🙂
Ugh….I still can’t stand any of these songs as they were so overplayed back then and even now the sound of them makes me cringe a bit. Great idea for a collection of songs William 🙂

Don’t get me wrong I love Creep. But every time I hear it still today on the radio I switch the station.

Oh well, that’s fine by me to switch station but I rarely listen to any kind-of old fashion style radio! Maybe, we should say it’s still being overplayed now?!
Cheers mate 🙂

Hi, after a long time.
Nice List about the 90s.
I don’t needed Nirvana anyway. In the 90s I was in my 30s. NIRVANA was a noise for pupils, not for the adults. The inventor of Grunge was Bob Mould! Better buying his CDs.I was reaching my retirement last year and on the first day of my new freedom I was playing his silverage CD in real heavy rotation!
Springsteen I hate since 2013. He played live in Leipzig/Germany and it was disgusting. A totaly concertfail because the sound was horror.
I payed 90 Euro for this piece of shit. And I visited the Doctor to rescue my ears after this. At home I sell my Boss- CDs after then and never again hearing Springsteensongs.
I dont discovered Radiohead in the 90s. So they are not overplayed to me. Creep I like in the german version.
Gunter Gabriel was doing it as “ich bin ein nichts“, short before his death.
ONE i like in the Johnny Cash Version. U2 are a kund of averidge band to me. Not bad but not needed.

Hey mate, yeah it’s been a while, nice to hear from you and your takes on these songs! Oh yeah, I do love that Johnny Cash cover of that song too and could be the reason I like it more now. I’d seen Radiohead live in the 90’s but never seen Springsteen live. Anyway better see what else you’ve got to say? Cheers 🙂
