Back to my songs of the days thingo today which the first one of 2020! It’s an old school classic house dance music track from 1988 with Victor Romeo’s Acid Rain! So who out there loves that kind-of music? Or do you hate it? Or just don’t care at all? Never listen at all? I don’t normally blog about it but here it is right now, just for you!
Original release on 12″ vinyl as B-side to Love Will Find A Way featuring vocals by Leetrece Brown, who only ever sung on one other Romeo’s song in early 90’s. Since then his songs like this one Acid Rain and all his many others has been included or featured on countless, endless comp or VA albums. The YouTube clip above, is that Sims or Second Life or some computer game? I don’t know? Anyway his real name is Victor Parris Mitchell but recording under moniker Victor Romeo plus under many others too. If you’ll like to know more? Here’s a link to a cool great interview with him from 2016, found it while typing out this post.
Warning: the next few posts are going to to have an acid theme or that should really be acid is the first words in the song titles of the next few tracks because if do or don’t I’m going vague alphabet order. Do you know your acid house dance music history or not? You never know, you might learn something? I’ve been meaning to feature these songs on my blog for ages but never got around until now. Was going to give them one post with a huge pile together but let’s give them one post per track or at least some starting with the word acid for next few posts, OK?
Off course, it’s Friday today so if you have plans tonight just canceled all that because everyone we are having a party! Get some acid, trip out and dance around like dickheads to this wicked cool comp album at full volume! It’s on bandcamp entitled Hardcore Traxx: Dance Mania Records 1986-1995. The second song in is Victor Romeo & Leatrice Brown – Love Will Find A Way. The Dance Mania Records was one of the very small independent labels at the time in Chicago which that place was like the capital city at year zero of this style of music:
Cheers! 🙂
