Song of the Day: Ace Of Spades by Motörhead

If you like to gamble, I tell you I’m your man
You win some, lose some, all the same to me
The pleasure is to play, makes no difference what you say
I don’t share your greed, the only card I need is the Ace of Spades
The Ace of Spades
Playing for the high one, dancing with the devil
Going with the flow, it’s all a game to me
Seven or eleven, snake eyes watching you
Double up or quit, double stake or split, the Ace of Spades
The Ace of Spades
You know I’m born to lose, and gambling’s for fools
But that’s the way I like it baby
I don’t wanna live for ever
And don’t forget the joker!
Pushing up the ante, I know you gotta see me
Read ’em and weep, the dead man’s hand again
I see it in your eyes, take one look and die
The only thing you see, you know it’s gonna be the Ace of Spades
The Ace of Spades

Mid-week metal/heavy rock track for anyone who wanna listen? The 1980’s title track which was from the fourth studio album by them. I think, I did say I’ve done all the songs starting with Ac… something but let’s included this one today because I like changing my mind and being confusing or something? This one now would have to be one of the most well-known tracks I’ve featured on this set of song of the days thingos, I was kind-of going for some less popular tracks or faves or something but it’s included right now today! Maybe, no other reason that I feel like it and why not? A million things has been said/written about it before so I’ll cut it off at that!

Real names: Philip John Taylor, Edward Alan Clarke and Ian Kilmister (l-r)

Cheers! 🙂

  1. I love this song of theirs….it’s my fav, will never get tired of it! Needs to be played LOUD. Weird story…I once listened to this album on headphones and went on a jog through the mountains in Scotland in the middle of a snow storm and then got an infected kidney from this escapade. I was just too carried away by the music and the running hahaha
