Song of the Day: Alanis Morissette by Wesley Willis

I’m back today with my song every few days post, or that’s what it should be re-titled because I can’t seem to do it very well daily!

Anyway Alanis Morissette is now the second singer to have a song name after them that’s I’m including in my SOTD posts! She’s a huge Canadian artist who needs no introduction, remember when she had Radiohead as her support act in the 90’s? So let’s just go onto the songwriter, OK? I do love any singer who headbutts their microphone, Wesley Willis did this way more than most leaving a huge bruise in the middle of his front-head in almost all the old photos you can find of him! Does anyone else remember him? Or have you never heard of him before? Here’s his Wikipedia page linked because I’m not going to repeated it again, sorry! I don’t care what anyone else says about him, he was a musical genius and I love him to bits! This song was from his album entitled Fabian Road Warrior of 1996 which was released by Rick Rubin’s label American Recordings.

Alanis Morissette lyrics are:

You are a rock star
You are a rock legend to the max
You can really knock it out
You can really whup a horse’s ass
Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette
You are a rocking maniac
You are a singing hyena
You are a rock star in Jesus’ name
You can really rock Saddam Hussein’s ass
Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette
You are my sweet woman to the end
You are my honey lover to the max
You are my sweetheart for years to come
You are so lovable to me in the long run
Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette
Alanis Morissette
Rock over London
Rock on, Chicago
Taco Bell, make a run for the border

So this might be a little overboard but bandcamp does have all three of his Greatest Hits albums so I listen to all of them recently, does anyone else out there what tooo?

But the Alanis Morissette song isn’t on any of them!

WW with his keyboard on the telephone, NOT Alanis Morissette off course!

Cheers! 🙂

    1. Oh shit, sorry to say I’m really not much of a fan of her but that’s really bad it’s like here, calling an Aussie a Kiwi or someone from New Zealand an Aussie! Cheers JP for informing me 🙂

      1. I’m not really a fan of her either and might’ve made the same mistake if it wasn’t so close to home. No offence taken. Cheers!
