My Favorite Song for Every Year: Part Three from 2000-2023

My Favorite Song for Every Year: Part Three from 2000-2023

So today is down to the very last post of these 3 on this Thursday morning! EML’s post can be found here of his tracks of the very same years, if you wanna check it out? Let’s just play the music and get on with it…

2021: Alex CameronSara Jo

2022: King Gizzard & The Lizard WizardHate Dancin’

2023: RVGNothing Really Changes

RVG winning AMP award and getting over-sided cheque in Jan!

That’s them at soundmerch warehouse to pick up the cheque from owner, Tim Everest is on far left with the band RVG on the right in the above photo and today’s feature image, you know?

I just wanna say that being who I am in music means being subjected to an insane amount of bullshit, and a lot of the songs on this album began as a targeted reaction to the kind of situations that most bands/artists would never have to go through. So to win this award goes a long way and makes me feel less insane and alone in what I do, so thank you!"

Fair point to make but maybe not as well-known moment as the last couple of pervious posts’ images but that’s a quote from Romy Vager of RVG speech after winning that award and prize money so it seems kind-of appropriate!

So the stats from today’s post are: Gareth Liddiard appears four times with The Drones twice, once as solo and TFS, HTRK and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard are three times each, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds and Sun Kil Moon a couple of times each. Only a couple of artists appeared in all three posts of the last few day’s My Favorite Song for Every Year posts who’re Tom Waits three times in all three posts but winner overall is Ed Kuepper who was in four times with The Saints, Laughing Clowns and as a solo artist twice. Others in multiples time are Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds were fours times who’s in the last two posts including this one. Both Blixa Bargeld and Mark Lanegan twice in the last one and this post, both Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen twice tooo in the first one and last one and have I missed anyone? I think that’s it anyway anyone out there going have a go at doing the same thing? Please let me know!

Cheers! 🙂

Well, I'm dyslexic so writing about something I love: Music, might help but it's most likely just full of mistakes. That title is also lyrics from The Drones song called I Don't Want To Change. Oh, my name is William and thanks for having a look.
