Well, that title should really be Bob Marley & the Wailers! It’s summertime here in the southern hemisphere and what better music to listen when it’s bloody hot as hell than reggae? So it’s Bob Marley and his band songs in this Sunday’s TTT post! I don’t think he really needs me to intro him in anyway like some bad doco or award show, everyone must know him and his music in some way by now? So here and now comes my fave songs today in order of release which are…
Simmer Down – debut single (1963)
This Train – single (1967)
Soul Rebel – Soul Rebels (1970)
Concrete Jungle – Catch a Fire (1973)
Small Axe – Burnin’ (1973)
Crazy Baldhead – Rastaman Vibration (1976)
Johnny Was – Rastaman Vibration (1976)
Exodus – Exodus (1977)
Punky Reggae Party – Single (1977)
Redemption Song – Uprising (1980)
What else can I say? Two earlier 60’s songs, the second is an old Traditional song but I love how they do it! Then seven tracks for the 70’s which was Marley’s decade with some much more I just couldn’t find in. Then one last great track from 1980 to finish off my little list of faves. I guess I’m naming 1976’s Rastaman Vibration album as my own fave record of his/them today too, the only one with two songs above but I know for a fact most would 1977 Exodus album as the best. Why not check out both, if you need more Wailers today? I don’t think I need to go on forever how great it is, just hit play and get into the groove and enjoy!
Changing music style yet again next weekend, what can it be?

Who sharing your own Bob Marley & the Wailers faves with me? Pretty please!
Cheers 🙂
I’m rather partial to Three Little Birds, Stir It Up and Redemption Songs. The Wailers live is still a transcendent experience

I had forgotten just how beautiful a song is ‘Johnny was’.
Great to be reminded again of Marley’s transcending talents.
Thanks William
