This Monday morning SOTD post I’ve got to the word aeroplane and off course it’s been used as a song title by more than a few acts but as you can already read, I’ve picked Holly Throsby’s track! That’s the official video clip above. She’s an Aussie singer-songwriter, if you’ve never heard of her before? She might be more well-known for the supergroup Seeker Lover Keeper with a couple of other singer-songwriters: Sarah Blasko and Sally Setlmann or if your a big fiction reader? Holly’s got a couple of novels published, I’m yet too read the second one Cedar Valley but the first one Goodwood was wicked great! Anyway Aeroplane is the opening track for her last solo album of 2017 entitled After A Time. That was her sixth solo album, it’s on Bandcamp and her lyrics are:
You know I can’t stay long
Where I don’t belong, where I know it’s wrong
And I cannot believe what I don’t believe –
I don’t believe
And though the sky is long –I want to go on an aeroplane
I want to go where I’ve never been
I want to know of you everything
Oh my darling, give me wingsSo I can up and leave
There are other places meant for me
And though the sky is long –
There’s somewhere I belong
I know I belongCan’t keep moving on
Because there’s something wrong with it
Can’t keep moving onBut I want to go on an aeroplane
I want to go where I’ve never been
I want to know of you everything
Oh my darling, give me wings

Cheers! 🙂
